Richard Webber is a freelance writer, road tester, sub-editor and editor working throughout the UK and beyond. He has been a Special Correspondent for Autocar – the world’s longest-running car magazine – since 2010, and has written for What Car?, Classic & Sports Car, CAR, Auto Express, PistonHeads, Dennis Communications, Automobile (USA), the Royal & Ancient Golf Club, Scottish Field, The Scotsman newspaper and several international publications.

Among his awards, Richard won the Guild of Motoring Writers Feature Writer of the Year for this story, Classic Writer of the Year for this one and Design Writer of the Year for this one. He has also picked up a Gold Medal at the Automotive Heritage Journalism Awards.

Originally from Hawick in the Scottish Borders, he now lives in Edinburgh via St Andrews University and London.

Richard is a devotee of Italian cars of the 80s and 90s, Scottish rugby and the music of Neil Diamond.
